Mark & Jan Caley

Residing in Clacton on Sea, Essex, England, Mark is a local lad born here in Clacton whereas Jan comes from North London.  They have been married for 27 years.  They started line dancing 16 years ago when some very good friends took them to the local Country & Western Club.  They started lessons and soon became hooked, like most people.  Mark started to teach about 12 years ago when a vacancy arose at the local club, Jan helps with the teaching but only when she has too! They both took their BWDA exams  passing all 3 aspects with John Sandham up in Preston.  Mark then took the plunge to go in for the D&G school of western Dance and after nearly 3 years of exams he finally became fully qualified in June 1999.

In July 1997 Mark & Jan formed Caley's Country WDC.  Club social nights are held one Friday evening per month with a disco to which everybody is welcome.  Mark runs the disco named 'Caley's Disco' and  has become a respected DJ on the line dance scene.  The Club enjoys the enormous support of its members with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment!

In February of 1999  after a lot of serious thinking, Mark took a big step and  decided to go full time with the teaching.  No regrets up to now.

With the ever progressing dance scene, Caley's Country WDC evolved to become Caley's Dance Club which incorporates line and partner dancing.

Our personal hobbies include golf and travel which have been incorporated into the Dance Club with many weekend and weeks away being spent on holiday be it for line dancing, golf or purely social.  

We have been very fortunate over the years to have had much success with the dances we have choreographed and we thank all those instructors who have taken the time to learn and teach them.  These include Do Ya, Dreamworld, Plain Spanish, Kool & Fresh, Dime a Dance, Leave Right Now, Lover's Prayer and Partner Dances  - Oops I Slipped, River Image, Martina's Dream, Triple L, Move in Time Cha, One Way Cha.
